         HISTORY OF MOTHER'S DAY
The celebration of Mother's Day today reaches
roughly 46 countries, on different dates, and has
become an extremely popular day. Millions and
millions of people across the world take the day
to honor their mothers, to thank them for giving
them life, for raising them, for being their
constant support, and for being their mother.
The earliest known history of Mother's Day dates
back to the ancient annual spring festival that
the Greeks dedicated to maternal goddesses.
The occasion was to honor Rhea, wife of Cronus
and the mother of many gods of Greek
mythology.
Ancient Romans also celebrated a spring festival,
called Hilaria, dedicated to Cybele, a mother
goddess. Ceremonies in honor of Cybele began
approximately 250 years before Jesus Christ was
born. Celebrated on the Ides of March, offerings
in the Temple of Cybele lasted for three days
and included parades and games.
Early Christians celebrated a day to honor
mothers during a festival on the fourth Sunday of
Lent. Originally the celebration was to honor the
Virgin Mary, the Mother of Christ, however the
holiday was later expanded in England to include
all mothers. Thus the celebration was called
Mothering Sunday.
More recent history of Mother's Day dates back
to the 1600s in England. A Mothering Sunday
was celebrated every year on the fourth Sunday
of Lent to honor every mother. Children brought
gifts and flowers for their mothers after a prayer
service in church, to honor Virgin Mary. Servants,
apprentices, and other employees who were
away from home were actually encouraged by
their employ to visit and honor their mother
        REASONS WHY I LOVE MY MOTHER
 When mummy noticed that she was pregnant, she was filled with mixed feeling of joy and fear. She was happy because very soon, a child is going to come into this world through her, She was afraid because of the pain and suffering she going to encounter during this nine months of her pregnancy.
God gave every human being the freedom to take decision, my mum had the same freedom either to keep me or to abort me. But she choose to keep me alife, what a lovely mother, I could have been killed if not because I came into this world through her, I'm so lucky to have her.
Mummy started taking care of me from the womb, she stopped eating everything she like just for my sake, she can't go every were because she was always conscious of my safety.
On the day of delivery, mum was in great pain, she cried out in pain, she lost many blood, in fact she nearly died, but God gave her the strength to keep moving. Finally I arrived into the world, woow!! what a strange place, but mum never cease to make me feel at home, she always smile at me and that gave d confidence that I'm in safe hand.
I started making life difficult for her, I always mess up everywhere, mummy will wash and clean but within a short time I mess up everywhere again, but the interesting part is that mummy never complained, not even for once, she kept  on smiling at me.
Mummy kept on providing for me, making sure that I live a comfortable life even though she doesn't have enough, but I never lacked anything, she sent me to school just to ensure that I meet up to the standard of the society, I can't forget my mother.
Now, I'm living happily because of the decision my mother took to give me a comfortable life.

    WHAT AM I TO GIVE IN RETURN
Just love your mum no matter the condition, surprise her, obey her, listen to her advice because she's the only person that will tell you the truth, work hard so that she would eat the fruit of her labour before she dies, don't disappoint her, don't break her heart


     WHAT AM I EXPECTED TO DO TODAY?

Today is mothers day, buy things for her, take her out, kiss her, prepare her favourite meal, and mostly, make a promise to make a positive change in your life
If your mother is dead, don't worry, the only thing you have to do Is just to make sure that you make her proud, make her name great, work hard, don't allow anybody pity you, they are not better than you in anywhere, remember those word she always said to you when alife, read your Bible especially proverbs, it will give you all the guide line on how to live your life, and mostly, pray for her
